Cottage/Lodge Rules
Everything you need to know to make the most of your break…
Please take the time to read our welcoming information.
This information is to help you with your stay at Wells Touring Park. Should you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff or come to reception and we will be more than happy to help.
When You Arrive
Please book in at reception on arrival. Cottage and Lodge – Check-in time is from 2.00pm on the day of arrival. If you are likely to arrive after 6pm please call reception on your arrival day, with your expected arrival time (01749 676869). Check-out time is 10.00am on the day of departure.
Cars & Parking
Please use the parking bays opposite the cottages. All cars parked at their own risk. 5 MPH limit. Please drive as fast as you can walk (slow). Only one car per pitch. Additional and day visitors are chargeable. It is essential all visitors check in at reception.
Barrier
DO NOT walk or cycle under the entrance barrier. Please KEEP clear!
A barrier code will be allocated on arrival.
Ball Games
No footballs, rugby balls to be played with around the site. Please respect others enjoying the tranquil environment.
BBQ
Barbeques allowed. Please KEEP OFF the grass and be aware of increased fire hazards.
Bus
Bus stops at the entrance of the caravan park. Service 126 & 26 runs between Wells and Weston-Super-Mare.
Bicycles
5 MPH speed limit applies! Please keep off the grass and keep free of doorways. An after dark curfew exists for safety reasons.
Clothes Lines
These are a safety hazard, particularly after dark and therefore are not permitted on the caravan park. Window racks and airer’s are allowed.
CCTV
We are monitoring and recording on the caravan park.
Electric
Hook up’s have a 10/16 amp fuse trip.
Emergency
Telephone numbers on the notice board or at reception.
First Aid
At reception.
Freezer Packs
Re freeze your own packs in the laundrette room.
Gas
Calor Gas refills are available from reception during opening hours.
Fire
Please familiarise yourself with the position of the fire extinguishers (fire points shown on site map). Do not attempt to tackle a fire unless practicable to do so. Upon hearing the alarm raised please make your way to your nearest fire assembly point, avoiding the source of the fire. Miss use of fire equipment will result in a fine and endangers lives.
Noise
Please be considerate to neighbours. Remember other people are on holiday too…. No noise after 10.00pm.
Problems
We are dedicated to providing a good quality service. Please come and see us in reception and we will try and help put it right!
Rubbish & Recycling
All rubbish must be disposed of in the Bin/ recycling area. Please recycle in the correct bins. Signs are very clear. Large non-domestic items MUST be taken to the tip in Wells or Cheddar.
Tourist Information
Plenty of free information and maps of the surrounding areas at reception. Reception are more than happy to make restaurant/ pub reservations for you. Peak season Wells and surrounding areas can be very busy.
Visitors
All visitors to the touring park, even for a short while must report to reception on arrival for Health and Safety regulations. The park rules apply to all visitors.
Shop
Times may vary, the shop sells essentials items only (milk, bread, butter, cheese, eggs, toiletries, etc…)
Water
Please do NOT waste water! You are not permitted to wash your car on the park.
Your Responsibilities
Wells Touring Park will not be held responsible for any damages or injuries caused by anyone or anything.
Disabled Access
Please be aware the cottages do not have a disabled ramp and the doors are a standard width.
Respect
Please respect the site and the people on it, they are on holiday too…
Safety
On arrival, make yourself aware of the location of any safety equipment such as a fire extinguisher/fire blanket and read the operating instructions.
At Night
Take extra special care when moving around the property, especially at night. Familiarise yourself with the layout of the property and location of light switches, always put a light on when moving around the property at night.
Security
Securely lock the property whenever you leave it and at night. Make sure all windows are closed (and locked), where possible.
Valuables
Never leave valuables in open view. Valuables are left at your own risk.
Smell Gas?
If you smell gas, report it immediately. Black sooty marks or stains and lazy orange flames on a gas appliance could indicate a fault – report any concerns immediately.
Appliances
Switch off electrical appliances at night and do not leave appliances like the TV, washing machines and driers running when you go out.
Wet Surfaces
Kitchen and Bathroom/ shower room floors can be very slippery. Footpaths leading to the cottages may be slippery in bad weather conditions.
Heaters
If your property has night storage heaters, these must never be covered.
Breakages
You will be responsible for all damage or breakages caused by you and/or (whichever applies) members of your party to the property or its contents (including the cost of any work needed to put this right). This includes responsibility for paying for this damage. Wells Touring Park can ask for payment from you to cover these costs. If you discover that anything is missing or damaged on arrival please notify a member of the team immediately.
Deposits
We will request you to pay a security deposit on arrival.
Our top tips
- Make a list of things for you and things for your pet (Poop bags!).
- Check the property description so you know what your surroundings will be like and what amenities are close by.
- Don’t forget lots and lots of toys – make the most of the new surroundings by giving your dog some playtime.
- Take a good supply of chews and treats – we all like to indulge a little on holiday!
- Remember to pack plenty of rugs and towels – perfect for picnics, covering furniture and drying off.
Dos and don'ts
- Please keep pets off the furniture.
- Please exercise your pets outside the park.
- Please remove pet hairs from carpets before you leave.
- Please don’t leave your pets unattended in the property or the park.
- Please do not allow pets in the bedrooms.
Terms and Conditions
All bookings are accepted subject to the following conditions:
The following rules of occupation are for the good of the Park management and the benefit of all who use it. The rules have not been compiled to place unnecessary restrictions on visitors. We are sure that, provided the rules are accepted in the right spirit, our park will continue to be a happy community.
Carnival weekend must be booked via the telephone, no online bookings that weekend.
Full payment on booking with all offers. Offers exclude bank holiday weekends. Please use the offer quote/ voucher code or the offer will not be valid. All offers are strictly non-refundable.
It is the responsibility of the customer to contact the park to pay balances, as reminders will not be sent. The park reserves the right to re let pitches, cottages or lodges which have not been paid for in full 28days prior to arrival.
Cancellations
Wells Holiday Park advise to arrange holiday insurance to give protection in the event that the Hirer is unable, for any reason, to take up the holiday accommodation at the agreed time. The Hirer should notify Wells Holiday Park of any cancellation immediately. For any cancellation before the arrival date, not only will the deposit be forfeited but also the balance of the holiday will be payable by the Hirer. If the property can be re-let then an appropriate refund will be made, but the deposit is always non-refundable.
Deposits are strictly non-refundable. If cancellation is made less than 28 days prior to the start of your stay, no refunds can be given.
Customers making cancellations with more than 28 days’ can be rebooked and taken within a 2 month period from the original booking but a 30.00 pounds transfer fee must be paid. All cancellations must be made in writing either by email or post.

Force majeure
In the event of Force Majeure being imposed, Wells Touring Park shall not be liable for the refund of holiday expenses. Circumstances amounting to force majeure include any event which the owner(s) could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such circumstances include the destruction or damage of your Holiday-Home (which cannot reasonably be remedied to a satisfactory standard before the start of your holiday) through fire, flood, explosion, storm or other weather damage, break-in, criminal damage or any similar event. Such circumstances also include riots or civil strife, industrial action, natural or man made disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, war or threat of war, actual or threatened terrorist activity and all similar situations beyond our control.
